Inky Animals

This was a fun one!

This project began with splattering some ink on water and picking out shapes from the result. It sort of felt like I was giving myself a Rorschach test!

Rough sketches slowly turned into concrete figures. This slideshow shows two separate ideas develop:

After being suitably inspired, I got to work laying out a final composition, and googled around for some reference images of skulls and animals.

The final piece is on frosted paper, with ink on one side and pencil on the other.
