Lady Link

This was a fun project - my first 3D print, via Shapeways.com - to create a present for Christmas '16.

It was simple enough: I downloaded a model of Link, as he appears in Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Then it was as simple as lightly adjusting the mesh to give him a more feminine form (but I was careful not to deviate too far from the original design), and change the tunic texture to be orange (the preferred color of the person receiving this as a gift). Also, a very simple base (rock + grass) was created.

I'm happy with how my first 3D print turned out, and many lessons were learned. For example, this model was not built for 3D printing. A lot of edits needed to be made: thin aspects, like the ears, strands of hair, and collars needed to be thickened up to be printable. However, some flaws can be seen: notice that, around the hips/upper right thigh, part of the chain mail (which was very thin) did not survive the printing process.
